32I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.
Synopsis
This very unusual novel transcends a host of familiar genres in such a way that the resulting overall genre might be something previously unseen. Just about the time the reader thinks he has a handle on its genre, the plot takes a twist that throws the book into a whole new realm. Just as one example... has any novel ever presented a character that's anything like |The Lopaqua?| This could easily be a new type of superhero, with a type of power not before seen in literature. Unlike powers generally accorded to |superheroes,| the ones possessed by the Lopaqua are simultaneously fantastic and almost realistic. For a reader who thinks he'd enjoy a combination of sci-fi, drama, a touch of Western, a fair amount of sleuthing, a bit of forensic medicine, some social consciousness, some dashes of romance, some government coverups, a collection of victimized extraterrestrials, a few journeys to some very unusual netherworlds, a fair amount of humor, and some horror thrown in -- all tied very neatly into a well-interwoven story -- this just might be the book he's been seeking.
